Our morning started with several cups of black coffee and watching TV news gab about how "Everybody's Irish" today. Enough of that drivel, let's go do something!
So Helen and I headed out the door about 10 a.m. to visit Jo-Ann Fabrics where she wanted to buy some lace trim, ribbon and other items for the two nightgowns she is making for granddaughter Katherine. It's about 10 miles from the apartment. That trip took about 90 minutes and by the time we got home lunch was high on our agenda. I whipped up chicken salad sandwiches for us. Helen settled in to watch her two-hour block of "Desperate Housewives" from noon to 2 p.m.
That was my clue to head over to the Red Rock casino to check out the sports book and blackjack action. I settled in at a $10 table and went up and down and down and down, then up and up and up. Eventually I walked with a profit of $125. But before I left, I bought a $20 hoops 4-team money line parlay ticket. Here's how it stands now - Oakland a win, Penn State a win, Notre Dame leading by 3 in the second half, Kentucky leading by 17 in the second half. It will pay $72.65 when it hits...
We enjoyed a dinner of Middle Eastern fare - hummus, tabouli, pita bread, lebne and Greek feta cheese. Same as yesterday, but still very tasty.
Right now we're reading and watching some TV, but tomorrow our adventure continues...
