Every Wednesday means Bible Study Class for Helen and a quick one-hour blackjack session at the Suncoast for me.
My blackjack effort didn't work out very well. Despite all good intentions, I dropped $35 in the hour. I also bought a $25 ticket on Texas -4 vs. Minnesota in tomorrow's NCAA Tourney. Hook 'Em Horns!!
At 11:30 I returned to the church to pick up Helen and we headed home for lunch - chicken salad on pita bread. Then it was time for Helen to see what was happening with those Wild Women of Wisteria Lane - my cue to head to Red Rock Casino and cash my winning hoops ticket from yesterday that pays $72.
On my way, I stopped by the library to return some books.
While at the Red Rock, I played some blackjack and had one of the worst sessions in recent weeks. I lost three $50 buy-ins - $150 gone in about an hour... So I returned to the Suncoast for one last shot at blackjack. I had about 90 minutes to turn a profit and it worked out very well. I ground out a $145 profit, so for the day I ended up minus $40. A pretty minor setback in light of my recent successes.
Tomorrow morning the Hoops Fun starts at 8 a.m. at the Suncoast. They have a huge ballroom with big screen TVs, remote betting stations, free food and cheap drinks. It'll be a great place to watch the games and I'll be over there early. The first game starts about 9:30 a.m. What a great day it could be!
While I was gone, Helen was napping and watching TV. When I got home, we decided dinner would be from Del Taco, a Mexican fast food place that we like. I had their "Macho Burrito" and Helen opted for the "Del Combo Burrito." It was tasty. Dessert was some butter pecan ice cream, topped with an organic jam of passion fruit, bananas and pineapple - Goooood!
Now we're watching "Dog, The Bounty Hunter" and relaxing. But tomorrow our adventure continues...
