On Friday I made the drive to Bally's to log some poker time.
Got there about 10 a.m. and didn't get a game going for about 30 minutes. It was up and down with no dramatic hands. I played for three hours taking a break to grab a roast beef sandwich at Earl of Sandwich at Planet Hollywood. I wanted to get a little walking in and they make a great grilled sandwich with tangy horseradish sauce that is worth twice the price. I took my sandwich to the sports book and watched some sports while I ate.
Then it was time to get back to the poker game at Ballys. As I left PH, I noticed a crowd waiting to cross the Strip from PH to Bellagio. A guy carrying a big sign that said "Jesus is the Savior" and "The End is Coming" and a couple other phrases was causing a commotion and yelling at a guy who looked to be 70 if he was a day.
Old Guy was waiting for the light to change and hanging on his arm was a 20-something bit of arm candy who wore a SHORT skirt, 6-inch stiletto heels and a smile.
"IS THAT YOUR GRANDDAUGHTER?" screamed Sign Guy. "IS THAT YOUR GRANDDAUGHTER?"
Old Guy didn't respond.
Sign guy kept shouting 8 or 10 times until the light changed and Old Guy and his "friend" crossed over toward Bellagio. I headed back to Ballys and resumed poker. I ended up losing $60 for the day while logging about 5 hours of play. No highlights at the table. Certainly nothing as entertaining as the street incident I had watched.
And so our LV adventure continues...
