Helen and I made the 90-mile trip to Laughlin to get our second COVID vaccination yesterday. We hit the road at 1 pm and got down there a little before 3.
Last month we made the trip down to get poked at the Aquarius Hotel & Casino where they held the event in a ballroom. But this trip was hosted by the Edgewater Casino and it was terribly organized by the hotel people. When we arrived, there was no exterior signage to even hint that there were inoculations taking place in the joint.
After parking, we went inside and still no signs directing us to any COVID events. Our appointment was for 3:30 and we were a bit early, so I rolled Helen and her wheelchair around looking for the site. After no luck, I stopped by a Security station where the guy was on the phone. I waited about 4-5 minutes before deciding he was not going to hang up and help us, so I finally flagged down a worker who pleasantly walked us outside the hotel to a sort of tent-like structure that is usually used for concerts.
We never would have found the place if wasn't for that nice lady's assistance.
Anyway, once in there, it was pretty well organized. We got the shots, waited for 15 minutes and were back on the road by 4, then home by 6. We're both glad to have this behind us.
For dinner I had some leftover sausage, beans and rice that I quickly heated. A little TV and we were ready to call it a day. And so our adventure continues...
