Helen and I connected with our friends David and Gail Molby to enjoy dinner at the Planet Hollywood Spice Market Buffet last night.
We all met up about 6:30 p.m. and I was able to use comp points to pay for portion of our dinners. Long gone are the days of the cheap buffets in LV. This dinner runs $30 a person and I was able to reduce the cost to Helen and I to $44 by using my player card points. We had a great time talking and laughing before hitting the food selection.
Helen had already told me she wanted Middle Eastern fare, so I filled her plate with hummus, couscous salad, stuffed grape leaves, lebne and pita bread. I started with a plate of peel-able shrimp and sauce, plus fresh melon and pineapple. Then I went for the entrees - rare prime rib, roasted potatoes, green beans, a piece of jerk chicken, a few pieces of chicken kabobs and a hard roll with butter. Dessert for Helen was a chocolate brownie and a raspberry tart, while I went for a bowl of chocolate custard and a cheesecake tart. Coffee made it perfect.
After dinner we played at a Wheel of Fortune slot machine. I shoved a $20 into the thing and ran it down to my last spin before I got a bonus spin...and hit for $25! I ran it up a little more and ended with a profit of $7. No one else had any good fortune and we soon drove the Molbys back to their hotel, The Venetian.
Helen and I got home about 11, tired but happy. And so our adventure continues...
