Heading Home

After four VERY fun months, our LV adventure is just about over.

Tomorrow morning the movers are coming to haul our belongings to the storage unit I rented a couple of weeks ago. They are supposed to be here about 7 a.m., so by 9 or 10 we expect to be on the road heading back to Traverse City. Depending on our departure time, we will drive to Flagstaff or maybe a bit further before stopping for the night. Our ETA for TC will be either Friday or Saturday, depending on weather and traffic.

It's been a great winter for us. Just a few of the highlights include:
Visits from friends and family. We got to have some LV fun with Tricia and Kevin Wright, Norman and Lorraine Hajjar, Nick and Lois Edson, John and Janet Tune and our son Scott.  All of the visits were tooooo short and we hope we can do them all again next year!

Some outstanding shows - John Fogerty, Hitzville Motown Revue, Million Dollar Quartet (4 TIMES), Rod Stewart, Michael Jackson One  and LOVE.

Several great poker games, including cashing 5 times out of 9 entries in Ballys free roll poker tournaments. Also many more winning blackjack sessions than losing sessions.

It's been a great winter, but now we're looking forward to getting back to Michigan. We're planning on returning, perhaps in November, so our LV adventures will continue...

It's Been A While

Looking at the last blog posting, it's been a full month since I posted a report about our LV adventures.

There's no big reason, other than I just got lazy and out of the routine of sharing our tales. Here's a brief look at what we have been doing.

One highlight happened two weeks ago when Helen's brother Norman and his wife Lorraine drove over from Thousands Oaks, CA and visited. They only spent one night, but we had some fun and laughs during the time they were here. They stayed at the Venetian and we joined them for some good food at the Grand Lux Café. Norman and I watched hoops and hockey at the sports book, while Helen and Lorraine toured the Grand Canal Shops.

Gambling-wise, March has been an up and down month. I've played both poker and blackjack but no major wins or losses. Yesterday, for example, I played about 4 hours of poker at Ballys and won $80.

A few days ago Helen was feeling really weak and warm. Turns out she had a sinus infection and her fever rose to 101, which has a HUGE impact on her MS. After a bit of a medical run-around from her doc, she was able to get a  prescription for an antibiotic and within hours her temperature was down and she was feeling better. She's feeling much better now.

She really wanted to get well, because tonight we have tickets to see Rod Stewart at Caesars Palace. It's a show we've both been looking forward to seeing. And on Friday we have tickets for LOVE, the Beatles show at the Mirage. They have recently revised the show, adding new elements, and we're looking forward to see how it changed since we saw it last year.

We're winding down our trip and our estimated departure day is next Tuesday, the 29th. Well, it's more than estimated, since we have movers coming to get all our stuff and haul it to the storage unit that I rented last week. We're looking forward to getting back to Michigan, though it's been a VERY FUN winter here, highlighted by visits from the Edsons, the Tunes, the Wrights and Norman and Lorraine.

I'll try to do a better job with the blog as our visit here wraps up and our LV adventures continues...
