Wow!
It's been more than two weeks since I've sat down to blog so now we'll try to catch up a bit. The past few days have been pretty busy. We're leaving Thursday to spend a few days in LA with Helen's brother Norm and his family. One highlight will be a Friday night Dodgers Game. Norm has scored 6 tickets in the KABC sky box, so that should be pretty cool. We'll be returning to LV on Monday.
We've also been busy getting ready to pack up our belongings and head back to TC. I lined up our moving guy and reserved our storage unit. We'll be leaving on Thursday, the 29th and driving to Anna's, arriving either late Friday or Saturday morning, depending on how early on the 29th we can hit the road.
After reserving our storage unit yesterday, I went down to the Golden Nugget where I was going to meet with TC's Dan Rohn who is managing the Las Vegas 51s, the minor league bb team. Dan wasn't able to get together because one of his players had been called up to the Toronto Blue Jays and he had to take care of some paperwork. Anyway, I watched the Tigers game and cashed a two team parlay (Tigers-Yankees) when the Bengals rallied to top KC, 6-5.
My $20 bet returned $55.
I left the Nugget about 130 and drove to Ballys to play some poker. In about 90 minutes I racked up a $35 profit and left. So far the day I netted $70. Not bad.
Dinner was one of favorite Mexican takeout places, Del Taco where we enjoyed their special tacos. On Tuesdays their tacos are 3 for $1.19. How can you go wrong?
Helen has been busy finishing a sewing project - a nightgown for granddaughter Katherine. Her birthday is May 7, so Helen wanted to get it done before we head to LA. Now it's finished and it looks GREAT. She's a talented seamstress.
I'm a little under the weather today, fighting a cold. It started yesterday with a scratchy throat and I went right to the Zicam. After a pretty sleepless night, I'm facing the day congested, but with no fever or headache. Time to tough it out...
And so our adventure continues...
